Bird Watching Tour

Day1

After your arrival in Ulaanbaatar have a short city tour including / National Bogd Khaan Palace Musuem, Sukhbaatar square. Dinner is at Mongolian restaurant. /L/D/

Day2

Whole day drive to Baga gazriin chuluu. Granite area covering 300km square. Visit to cave where monks used to meditate. Spend night in tourist camp. /B/L/D/

Day3

Transfer to Ikh gazriin chuluu. They spread out from west to east covering about 20 kilometers. There are many interesting stories about local historic people who had lived or had been hidden in caves from the royalties of that time. These caves are usually named after those people. It has a rich family of plants and is a home to many wild animals. Overnight in tourist camp./B/L/D/

Day4

Drive to Tsagaan suvraga. Interesting formation 90 C corner cliffs. Overnight in Nomadic family. /B/L/D/

Day5

Head to Yol valley/ Bearded Vulture Valley/. The Mountain is 2800m above see level. 16 sq km area was protected. Even it is summer we can see ice there. In some case more than 1m width. When you see to the sky bottom of the valley sky'll be looked like a blue line. Also breaded vultures live surrounding area of Yol Valley./B/L/D/

Day6

Drive to Dungenee valley in Zuun Saikhan Mountain. You can see Mongolian Finch, White-winged Snow Finch, Black Redstart, Common and Beautiful Rosefinch, Wall Creeper, Mongolian Accentor, Alpine Accentor Bearded Vulture, Twite and Wallcreeper. /B/L/D/

Day7

Head to Khongor sand dunes' length is 180km, width is 3-15km, and height is 15-30m. Forward the sand dunes you can find high Mountains. On the other hand backward is beautiful oasis with river. Thus scenery is splendid. Ride camels via sand dunes. Today's tour is taken place there.On the way hukar, Mongolian Finch, White-winged Snow Finch, Himalayan Griffon, Golden Eagle, Saker Falcon, Black Redstart, Beautiful Rosefinch, Wall Creeper, Mongolian Accentor, Alpine Accentor and soaring raptors such as Bearded Vulture. /B/L/D/

Day8

After delicious breakfast drive to Bayanzag /Flaming cliffs/. This place is the well-known its finds of Dinosaurs' skeletons. In 1920 American paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews explored this place and gave name Bayanzag/Rich in saxaul/. Flaming cliffs means it is resemble red fire when reddish sun shine it. Especially during sunset. Overnight in tourist camp./B/L/D/

Day9

Drive to green steppe via Ongi monastery. This is the ruin of valuable Buddhism Center where about 300 monks used to live. Spend night in tourist camp./B/L/D/

Day10

After breakfast transfer to Kharkhorin town, ancient capital city of Mongolia which was proclaimed officailly in 1235 by Ugudei Khaan.Visit to the Erdene zuu monastery, one of the largest monastery in Mongolia. It was built in 1586 on the ruin of ancient capital. There was no nail used to build it. After dinner climb to the little hill where you can see the memorial of Mongolain Kings and panoramic view of Kharkhorin town as well as Orkhon river. You have an opportunity to see Golden Eagle on the hand of Kazakh eagle hunters. Overnight in tourist camp. /B/L/D/

Day11

Head to Ugii Lake, raised 1337m above sea level where you can see the various of fishes. The deepest point is 15m.Very fresh lake thus you can swim there.On the way you can see Steppe raptors, Isabelline Wheatear, Short-toed Larks, Mongolian Larks, Demoiselle Crane. /B/L/D/

Day12

Full day birdwatching on Ugii Lake. /B/L/D/

Day13

Proceeding to Borgochin Lake. Ruddy Shelduck, Shoveler, Pintail, Whooper Swan are appeared on Borgochin Lake./B/L/D/

Day14

Drive to Hustai National Park. It is a world famous place for its successful reintroduction of Przewalski horses. The Takhi is a native animal of the Mongolia and it was disappeared since 1960 from the Mongolia. Golden Eagles, Black Vultures, Lesser Kestrels, Daurian Jackdaws, Rock Sparrows, Meadow Buntings, Saker Falcons, Upland Buzzards, Eurasian Hobby, Amur Falcons, are there. /B/L/D/

Back to Ulaanbaatar. Watch traditional performance. /B/L/D/
