A Nomadic Camp Tour in Mongolia is not just a holiday; it is a profound immersion into one of the world's last surviving horse-based cultures. To travel with nomads is to leave behind the digital noise of the 21st century and step into a rhythm dictated by the sun, the seasons, and the needs of the "five jewels" (horses, camels, sheep, goats, and cattle).

Whether you choose a luxury ger camp or a raw homestay, a nomadic tour offers a rare glimpse into a lifestyle where hospitality is a sacred duty and nature is the ultimate authority.

Places that define a nomadic camp tour in Mongolia.

1. Traditional Ger Stay

The Traditional Ger Stay is the cornerstone of any nomadic tour. A ger (often called a yurt elsewhere) is a portable, circular lattice tent covered in layers of sheep-wool felt. Staying in a ger is an exercise in ancient engineering—it is warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and remarkably wind-resistant.

2. Elsen Tasarkhai (The Mini-Gobi)

Known as the Elsen Tasarkhai, this "Mini-Gobi" is a unique geological crossroads where the sand dunes of the desert meet the green steppe and rocky mountains. This is one of the best places to visit a camel-herding family.

3. Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the Orkhon Valley is considered the cradle of nomadic civilization. For centuries, this fertile valley has been the seat of power for the Great Khans and a sanctuary for wandering herders.

4. Reindeer People of the North (Tsaatan)

For a truly remote experience, travel to the taiga of northern Mongolia to visit the Tsaatan (Reindeer People). Unlike the steppe nomads who move with gers, the Tsaatan live in ortz (tepee-like structures) and rely entirely on their reindeer for transportation and milk.

5. Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake (White Lake)

Nestled in the Khangai Mountains, Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake is a stunning volcanic lake surrounded by lava fields. Nomadic families here live in a landscape of fire and ice, with the nearby Khorgo Volcano crater offering a dramatic hiking destination.

Program:

Pick you up from your hotel, and drive to the Mongol Nomadic tourist camp. Facilities of the tourist camp, such as clothing, furniture of the ger, cart, are inherited from hundreds of years.

This tour includes the following activities:

Milk mare

Taste Mongolian milk tea, dairy products, and sing folk songs to them

Lunch, serve various types of traditional foods, dessert, and dairy products. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
