Terelj National Park Tour: A Scenic Escape into Mongolia’s Nature
A Terelj National Park Tour is the perfect way to experience Mongolia’s stunning landscapes, fresh air, and traditional culture. Located just 70 kilometers from Ulaanbaatar, Gorkhi–Terelj National Park is one of the most popular destinations for both local and international travelers.
The park is famous for its dramatic rock formations, wide green valleys, and flowing rivers. One of the most well-known landmarks is the Turtle Rock, a giant stone shaped like a turtle that makes for a great photo stop. Nearby, visitors can enjoy short hikes through peaceful trails surrounded by pine forests and open grasslands.
Another highlight of the tour is a visit to the Aryabal Meditation Temple. After climbing the steps to the temple, you are rewarded with panoramic views of the park’s beautiful scenery. The calm atmosphere makes it an ideal place for relaxation and reflection.
Many Terelj tours also include cultural experiences with local nomadic families. You can enter a traditional ger (yurt), taste homemade dairy products, and learn about Mongolia’s nomadic lifestyle. Horseback riding is another popular activity, allowing you to explore the park the traditional Mongolian way.
Wildlife lovers may spot marmots, deer, and various bird species during their visit. In warmer months, the park becomes lush and colorful, while winter offers a peaceful, snow-covered landscape.
